Les flotteurs de slalom sont réalisés a partir de pains de mousse de polystyrène étanche de grande qualité, recouverts d’un sandwich en mousse PVC renforcé de verre, de carbone et vectran garantissant la solidité et l’indéformabilité de la structure. Le montage des boitiers , des inserts ainsi que l’ensemble de la peau extérieure sont réalisés en carbone pur pour une combinaison inégalée de solidité et rigidité.

Les sollicitations importantes que subissent les planches de vague nécessitent en plus de la technologie sandwich des structures de renfort qui permettent de reculer le seuil de rupture et de réduire considérablement la fatigue des matériaux sur le long terme. L’association d’artifices techniques comme les « bumpers », les « T » stringers, les renforts « delta » en carbone et « l’oméga » carbone autour de la planche et une stratification intégrale en vectran et carbone, permet d’écarter tout risque de rupture de la planche.
